Beste ADM AARDE FESTIVAL bezoekers
Het festival is inmiddels volop in voorbereiding en het belooft een geweldige gebeurtenis te worden.
Ervaar de prachtige performances in de buitenlucht, het klein en groot theater in de Haven en de muziek tot laat in de nacht.
Er is genoeg gevarieerd te eten, te drinken en vooral te vermaken.
Laat je verrassen door alles wat mogelijk is op een van de laatste vrije plaatsen van Amsterdam.
Zowel bekende als onbekende artiesten en vooral ook het gevoel van vrijheid en ruimte zullen je de minuten en uren doen vergeten en meeslepen op een boeiende culturele en sociale reis.
Kom en bezoek ons terrein !
Na de tropische Amsterdamse zomer is er een enkele bui voorspelt voor komend weekeinde. Uiteraard zijn wij daarvan niet onder de indruk. In 90% van de gevallen waait de regen over en valt het neer in het centrum van Amsterdam, zodat wij er geen last van hebben !
Kom zoveel mogelijk met de fiets en laat de auto staan.
Vanaf station Sloterdijk is het slechts 20 minuten fietsen.
Bespeur de stilte van de haven in de avonduren en ga na afloop naar huis op een door jou gekozen tijdstip !
Er worden 2 pendelbusjes in gezet om jullie op te halen en weg te brengen.
Om de kosten te dekken vragen we 2 euro voor de heenreis en ook 2 euro voor de terugreis.
De pendelbus stopt op de taxistandplaats, vanuit de uitgang Station Sloterdijk linksaf, loop 150m door. De busjes zijn herkenbaar door de ADM AARDE posters. Let op: het is altijd beter om met de fiets te komen, als het drukker is zijn onderstaande tijden variabel.

Van 28 t/m 30 augustus 2009 is de vormalige scheepswerf ADM in de Westhaven het
décor voor het ADM Aarde Festival.
Ruim 60 (inter)nationale kunstenaars laten zich
leiden door het thema Aarde, soms letterlijk soms figuratief. Een reeks zeer gevarieerd
subcultureel en gerenommeerd artistiek werk komt tot uiting in theater, muziek,
performance, kunst, poezie en installaties.
In het programma zijn o.a. opgenomen:

De culturele vrijhaven ADM is de laatste grote woon/werk gemeenschap van de stad. Op
het terrein wonen 125 kunst- en theatermakers, decorbouwers, uitvinders, dansers,
musici, ambachtslieden, zeebonken en vrijbuiters, levensgenieters en andersdenkenden.
Experiment, uitwisseling en spontaniteit hebben er voor gezorgd dat de ADM voor altijd
een plek in het culturele klimaat van Amsterdam verworven heeft. Zo is o.a. het
succesvolle Robodock festival op het ADM geboren, werd de eerste uitvoering van Merlijn
Twaalhoven’s La Vie N’est Pas Une Chocolat hier gerealiseerd en werden spraakmakende
bakbrommerrace kampioenschappen georganiseerd.
Eind 2006 werd het voortbestaan van de ADM vrijhaven ernstig bedreigd. De Gemeente
Amsterdam wilde het terrein snel verwerven om de economische groei van haven te
stimuleren. De Gemeente vond de betekenis van deze hechte culturele gemeenschap van
zodanig gewicht dat zij instemde met een door het ADM voorgesteld alternatief. Daarmee
lijkt het onontkoombaar dat het ADM als culturele vrijhaven voor de stad Amsterdam
behouden kan blijven. Momenteel wordt i.s.m. de Gemeente gezocht naar alternatieve
lokaties en is het resultaat daarvan vooralsnog onduidelijk.
